teaching license

after i graduated from college i went into full-time ministry.

i had received my teaching license when i graduated...which meant i was able to teach at any school in colorado.

in the back of my mind i thought that it was good i had my license, in case i ever wanted to teach. at one point i even researched the expiration of my license (3 years) and how to prevent the expiration even though i wasn't teaching. basically, all i had to do was fill out a form every 3 years and my license would remain active. if i fail to do this, i have to take the praxis exam again, which will be a major challenge when school and teaching is not fresh on my mind. so, it is much easier to simply fill out the form every 3 years.

i was cleaning out some drawers today and found my license. it expired a year ago. i guess i'm not planning on teaching.....i feel a sense of grief, of finality....that this is really what i'm giving my life to.

i love my job. i love ministry.

hey girl,
Look on the cde website, you only have to re-apply. It's like a $60 dollar fee but you don't have to retest. It's still a provisional license so your school would probably have you take an induction course but you wouldn't have to test again.
